What is HYROX?

Hyrox is a worldwide fitness competition that combines running with functional workout stations. It's designed to test overall fitness (endurance and strength) through a series of challenges performed solo or in teams of two or four, and accessible to all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced athletes. Here's a simple breakdown:

  1. Running: Participants run a total of 8 km, broken into eight 1-kilometer segments.

  2. Workout Stations: After each km run, participants must complete a different functional fitness exercise. These exercises include rowing, sled pushing, and burpee broad jumps amongst other.

WHAT IS HYROX AT FIANNA?

At Fianna, we run both Hyrox classes and events. Fianna coaches and members have participated in multiple Official Hyrox competitions in Ireland and abroad, as well as our Fianna Hyrox Mocks, where we mimic the full event to time ourselves and have some fun while we are at it. Classes are mixed between our CrossFit and TURF Studios so that no station is left unpracticed.

Hyrox Mocks

At Fianna Athletic Club, in addition to Hyrox Classes, we frequently run Hyrox Mock (full event simulations) with food, drinks, and prices after AND Hyrox Technique-Focus Workshops.

TURF Training

We highly recommend you combine your Hyrox training at Fianna, with TURF Training. In your trial offer, we have included credits for TURF classes so you can give them a try. What is TRUF?

Running-based high-intensity paired with strength-based workout. Prepare to sweat and lift heavy weights. Technohym-based class, advanced settings, smooth finishes - fancy in and out!

Unlike other places, we will encourage heavy weights and big muscle groups so muscle gains are not blunted! Running intervals that include inclines, sprints, sleds and parachutes, playing with music, lights and tempo, will make the treds much more variable and bearable.
